Redmi Note 9 gets Android 11 update alongside May 2021 security patch

Xiaomi has begun sending the Android 11 update to Redmi Note 9 smartphones for Russian and Global ROMs. Launched back in April 2020, the phone entered the markets with pre-installed Android 10 based MIUI 11 OS.

Soon after its release, it received a major software update and get MIUI 12 update. The device is also eligible to run the latest MIUI 12.5, hence, it will soon catch another major update.

Anyways, Android 11 isn’t the only highlight of new firmware. It also gets May 2021 security patch for better system security. It will also save your device from bugs and viruses.

Adding to these, the changelog for the update mentions that the GPS toggle in the status bar or notification shade is now renamed as “Location”. Also, the location info can be now reported automatically before the device is powered off.

Users can notice the other major changes or new features after updating the device, the changelog doesn’t mention anything more. Moreover, the new software update for Poco X3 comes with build version V12.0.1.0.RJOMIXM.

It can be download and installed in 2.1GB of data. Since it weighs more than 1GB, users should download it by using an unmetered connection or WiFi. The following is the changelog for the new update.
