New MIUI 12.5 beta update adds desktop widgets and more

Xiaomi is continuously working on improving its custom UX. Recently, the company announced that they have established a committee called ‘MIUI Pioneer Group’, which will take charge of MIUI issues.

Xiaomi MIUI users that have problems with their devices can directly contact them via Weibo. In the recent development, the OEM is rolling out a new MIUI 12.5 beta update in its home country to show new changes and improvements.

This new version can be identified via the build version 21.6.11. The official changelog for the update mentions that the new update optimizes the fluency of the Weather app.

It further adds desktop widgets to provide personalized search services. Also, it adds a new visual upgrade to optimize the search experience.

Other than this, started from May 2, 2021, if there is a behavior of irrigation and the hope to increase the internal test score, it will greatly reduce the probability of passing the internal test.

MIUI 12.5 was first released in China in December last year, later in global, Indian, and regions. Soon after its China release, the company started sending beta updates but the stable release begun in March.

Recently, the MIUI development team has announced that MIUI 12.5 will be delayed for some Xiaomi smartphones. This is happening due to optimization issues with Android R (Android 11) of this new version of MIUI.

The report further reveals the name of the affected devices, which are – Mi CC9 (Mi 9 Lite), Mi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition, Mi 9 Pro 5G, and Redmi Note 8 Pro. Anyways, the arrival of MIUI 12.5 to these is expected for July via Global ROM.
