Xiaomi delayed MIUI 12.5 roll out for these devices

In December 2020, Xiaomi officially released MIUI 12.5, the new generation of its custom skin. Later, the company introduced it in other markets. The OEM has even started rolling out the stable update for its eligible devices in various countries.

Several smartphones such as – Mi 10 Ultra, Mi 11 series, Redmi K40 series, Poco X3, Pro, and more have already received the update while many are about to. However, the good news seems not to be for everyone.

The MIUI development team has reported that the arrival of MIUI 12.5 will be delayed for many devices. It should be noted that this is happening due to optimization issues with Android R (Android 11) of this new version of MIUI.

The report further reveals the name of the affected devices, which are – Mi CC9 (Mi 9 Lite), Mi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition, Mi 9 Pro 5G, and Redmi Note 8 Pro. Anyways, the arrival of MIUI 12.5 to these are expected for July via Global ROM.

The customization of Android 11 to MIUI 12.5 on these devices does not meet internal OTA update quality standards, as reported by the MIUI development team through the Mi Community.

Nevertheless, software developer teams are already adopting these tools and will give them the highest possible priority. Although the news is directed at the Chinese ROM, the delay will almost certainly delay the arrival of MIUI 12.5 to the global ROM.
