WhatsApp won’t limit account functionality of those who refuse to accept new policies

WhatsApp’s new privacy policy has been in the network for the past few months. The Facebook-owned company has announced the next changes related to changes in the privacy policy.

According to the WhatsApp representatives, it will not limit the functionality of those who refuse to accept the new platform rules. The plans might be changed in the future but right now, this policy is applicable to all.

“Given recent discussions with various authorities and privacy experts, we want to make clear that we currently have no plans to limit the functionality of how WhatsApp works for those who have not yet accepted the update. Instead, we will continue to remind users from time to time about the update as well as when people choose to use relevant optional features, like communicating with a business that is receiving support from Facebook”. Said WhatsApp Spokesperson.

Earlier this month, the company said that users who refused to accept the new privacy policy would face limited functionality in WhatsApp. Specifically, the company meant to block calls and messages to opponents of the changes.

This announcement has caused quite a stir among messenger users. At the beginning of the year when WhatsApp announced changes to its privacy policy, a ton of users started shifting to other platforms such as Telegram and Signal.
