Launched back in February 2019, Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G came with Android 9.0 Pie-based MIUI 10.2 OS. Later the device received a couple of major updates and is currently running on the Android 9 based MIUI 12 operating system. However, the company has confirmed that the phone is eligible for two more major updates, Android 10 and MIUI 12.5.
Besides, Xiaomi has recently begun sending May 2021 Android security patches for its smartphones. Till now only one device, Poco X3 NFC has received the update, and now another phone, Mi Mix 3 5G is receiving it.
