Back in February this year, Xiaomi launched the Redmi K40 series for the first time. The series includes three smartphones – Redmi K40, K40 Pro, and K40 Pro+. Later, the company introduced another smartphone, which is the game-enhanced version of the Redmi K40.
All of these smartphones equip almost the same internals but OEM has launched a variety of chipsets in the lineup. Redmi K40 features Snapdragon 870 chipset, K40 Pro and Pro+ equips Snapdragon 888 and the K40 Game Enhanced Edition is powered by Dimensity 1200 SoC.

Now it seems that Redmi will bring another Redmi K40 phone with a different chipset. Recently, Lu Weibing, the general manager of Xiaomi asks opinions from Weibo users, which chip do they are looking forward to?
Judging from Xiaomi’s consistent moves, this new phone may have been developed or even mass-produced. It is expected that Xiaomi will launch another new platform model in the near future, starting from the Redmi product line.
It is speculated that it is either Dimensity 1100 or Dimensity 900 but combined with the K40 series in Lu Weibing’s question, the probability of Dimensity 1100 seems to be higher.
Besides, recently, a known tipster has revealed that Xiaomi will soon bring an affordable Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Editon which will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1100 chipset. Thus we can suspect that Lu Weibing is talking about the same smartphone.
