Last week, Zhang Guoquan, the director of Xiaomi’s system software department took Weibo to reveal that the company will bring the DC dimming function to Redmi K40 to make up for the regret of the series.

Meanwhile yesterday, he again took Weibo and said that the DC dimming test effect is unacceptable and will only appear in the development version. The stable version will definitely cancel support.

Zhang Guoquan also said that the MIUI 12.5 development version internal test of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro/Ultra will be released this week. And, the stable version internal test is expected to be released as soon as next week.

Moving forward, we know that the Redmi K40 series is equipped with a 6.67-inch AMOLED E4 open-hole full screen. Although the OLED screen can bring a better look and feel to the phone and lower power consumption.

It has a mortal flaw that is when the brightness of the phone is up, it will reduce to a certain level, it will switch to low-frequency PWM dimming. Some users who are more sensitive to flicker may feel uncomfortable using it for a long time.

Moreover, the DC-like dimming function can change the brightness of the screen by increasing or decreasing the power of the circuit, effectively reducing the damage to the eyes.

Users who want to use DC dimming can use the development version of the system, but the official said that the effect is not good, and it is expected that the experience will not be very good.
