Xiaomi predicted to ship over 146.4 million units within a financial year

Xiaomi Group announced the 2020 annual results of the company today (March 24, 2021). According to them, Lu Weibing, the president of Xiaomi China and the International Department is now appointed as the senior vice president of the group.

Moreover, Liu De will now work as executive director of Xiaomi Group. Zhang Feng, the general manager of the notebook computer department is promoted to senior vice president of the group. And, Zeng Xuezhong, the president of the mobile phone department is selected as the senior vice president of the group.

The announcement further declares that the total revenue of Xiaomi Group last year reached RMB 245.9 billion a year-on-year increase of 19.4%. And, adjusted net profit reached RMB 13 billion, a year-on-year increase of 12.8%.

Xiaomi’s revenue in the fourth quarter of 2020 will be 70.46 billion yuan, and the market is expected to be 75.226 billion yuan, compared with 56.47 billion yuan in the same period last year.

The net profit for the whole year of 2020 is 3.2 billion yuan, and the market is expected to be 13.343 billion yuan, compared with 10.04 billion yuan in the same period last year, an increase of 36.7% year-on-year.

On the other side, Xiaomi’s global smartphone shipments will be 146.4 million units in 2020, a year-on-year increase of 17.5%. In the fourth quarter of 2020, smartphone revenue reached RMB 42.6 billion, a year-on-year increase of 38.4%. Global smartphone shipments in the quarter were 42.3 million units, a year-on-year increase of 29.7%.

Xiaomi’s global smartphone shipments in 2020 will be 146.4 million units, a year-on-year increase of 17.5%. In 2020, smartphone revenue reached RMB 152.2 billion, a year-on-year increase of 24.6%.

Xiaomi also stated that its smartphone business has further established itself in the high-end market. In 2020, the global sales of high-end smartphones priced at RMB 3,000 or more in mainland China and 300 Euros or more abroad will be around 10 million units worldwide.

As per the Catalyst statistics, in 2020, Xiaomi smartphone shipments will grow by more than 24 million units against the trend, making it the smartphone manufacturer with the largest year-on-year net increase in global smartphone shipments.

Adding to this, in December 2020, Xiaomi’s global MIUI monthly active users reached 396.3 million, a year-on-year increase of 28.0%. At the same time, the globalized AIoT platform continues to expand.

As of December 31, 2020, the number of IoT devices (excluding smartphones and laptops) connected to the Xiaomi AIoT platform reached 324.8 million, a year-on-year increase of 38.0%. And, the number of monthly active users of the artificial intelligence assistant (Xiao Ai) reached 86.7 million in December 2020, a year-on-year increase of 43.5%.

Furthermore, the revenue of Xiaomi Group’s IoT and consumer products segment reached RMB 67.4 billion in 2020, an increase of 8.6% year-on-year. In the fourth quarter of 2020, the revenue of the IoT and consumer products segment reached RMB 21.1 billion, an increase of 8.0% year-on-year.

In addition, in 2020, Xiaomi’s Internet service revenue was 23.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 19.7%. In the fourth quarter of 2020, Xiaomi’s Internet service revenue was 6.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8.4%.

The financial report shows that as of December 31, 2020, Xiaomi has invested in more than 310 companies with a total book value of RMB 48 billion, a year-on-year increase of 60.1%.
