In detail, the sensor will be capable of capturing at least one face, by performing facial recognition on the taken image. As per the result of the facial recognition software, the algorithm would conclude whether there is a person looking on the user’s smartphone.

During the terminal anti-peeping method of the present disclosure, the device will be able to ensure user privacy by preventing any confidential data of files from being looked at or leaked. We can say that the patent is to help protect sensitive user data.

However, it is currently unknown if the company is actually working on such a product or covering all bases for a future iteration of this technology.

Moreover, many companies have already developed anti-peeping related technologies, some have even been applied in practice. We can predict the anti-peeping features that Xiaomi will provide from other companies’ technologies.
