Xiaomi acquiring MediaTek chips by reducing Qualcomm chip orders: Report

The new information from Taiwan’s “Economic Daily” says that Qualcomm’s 5G mobile phone chip supply is blocked and its delivery period is long, up to 30 weeks or more. Therefore, the companies such as Xiaomi and Oppo have immediately turned to MediaTek chips.

As per the reportXiaomi has reduced the balance of Qualcomm chip orders from 80% to 55% and has transferred a large number of orders to MediaTek. With the influx of orders, MediaTek is expected to reach NT$100 billion in revenue this quarter. However, MediaTek declined to comment.
