Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP) is mainly used to install unofficial ROMs and ports. It is a fully touch-based custom recovery that was initially developed for Nexus devices. But is now available for countless other smartphones and tablets as well.
Last month, a number of devices received official TERP support. While now these builds are available for three Xiaomi devices Mi 10i, Mi 10T Lite, and Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G, which are basically the same models with different names.
However, the Mi 10i / 10T Lite received an unofficial port of TWRP earlier this month. Meanwhile, this official build should offer a much more stable experience. It allows users to try new custom ROMs, kernels, and other mods before they become available.
On the other hand, it is suggested that there aren’t any ROMs or mods to try out yet. This release will likely help spark the development efforts, and hopefully, there will be many new custom ROMs for the Mi 10i / 10T Lite / Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G owners to try out in the coming weeks.
