A couple of weeks ago, on January 14, the Trump administration has blacklisted nine Chinese companies including Xiaomi for their alleged connections with the Chinese military.

Following this step of the U.S government, for the first time, Xiaomi gave a statement. The statement says that the company has always followed legal and assent functions and abided by the relevant laws and rules of the place of operation.

Services and products are used for civilian or commercial purposes. The company confirmed that it is not a Chinese military-owned, controlled, or related party, nor is it a Chinese military company as defined under the US NDAA law.

Adding to this, the latest information claims that Xiaomi has filed a lawsuit against the US Department of Defense and the Treasury on January 29, local time.

On January 15, at a press conference, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, relevant actions by the United States went against historical trends that violated its consistently advertised principles of market competition and international economic and trade regulations.

He further said that the U.S interfered with the normal economic, trade, and investment cooperation between China and the United States, and cracked down on foreign companies.

The confidence to invest in the United States will ultimately harm the interests of American companies and investors. This is another example of some people in the United States hurting others and detrimental to themselves.
