A recent tweet by Ross Young reported that Xiaomi Mi 12 could be released in 2021 and it will use LTPO screens. Going by Xiaomi’s consistent strategy, like Mi 11, Mi 12 may also be released at the end of the year.

Other than this, not only Mi 12 but the list of devices that will use LTPO display also include OPPO Find X3 series, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, Huawei Mate 50 Pro, iPhone 12s Pro, iPhone 12s Pro Max.

LTPO stands for Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide. It is an OLED display backplane technology developed by Apple. And currently, it is one of the best displays in the industry.

LTPO is considered to be the technology of the future. However, LTPO is suitable for both OLED and LCD displays, but it is more likely to be used in high-end OLED displays.
