It comes with the Android 10 based MIUI 12 version V12.0.8.0.QCRMIXM. And, to install this update, Redmi 9C users will have to download the Package of 3.6GB.

The Chinese smartphone maker – Xiaomi has started to roll out the January 2021 update to its several devices. Meanwhile, there are still some devices that haven’t received December 2020 update. One of those devices is Redmi 9C.
The company is now sending this December update to Redmi 9C smartphones. The latest update comes with an Android security patch that enhances users’ experience.
Other than this, the official changelog for this update does not mention any new features or major changes. It comes with the MIUI 12 version V12.0.5.0.QCRIDXM and weighs 1.7GB.
Furthermore, the update is based on Android 10 but Xiaomi has already started Android 11 beta testing for Redmi 9C devices.
