Mi 11 MIUI 12.5

Earlier this week Xiaomi launched its latest flagship Mi 11 with several most advanced internals. Also, just after the launch, Xiaomi released Kernel Source codes for this handset.

Now as per a piece of new information, Kernel Source code spotted a new smartphone and an unannounced Qualcomm SoC. A screenshot from these codes unfolds the names of two files. The first one is with Venus and the other one with Xiaomi.

The ‘Venus’ is the codename for Mi 11 and it is listed with the model number SM8350 which is Snapdragon 888. Meanwhile, a new SM7350 also appears along with Xiaomi. Well, this is not any of the old chips from Qualcomm which clears that this is an upcoming SoC.

Moreover, we have more reasons to believe this – A known tipster in July 2020 said that the Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro may come with SM7350 and SM8350 SoCs sequentially.

Also, Redmi has earlier verified that the Snapdragon 888 processor will debut on a Redmi device in Q1 2021 and it could be the Redmi K40 Pro. This unannounced 7th series of Qualcomm SoC was also reportedly examined with 12GB DDR5 RAM, 256GB UFS 3.1 storage, and a 120Hz screen.

If these reports are true, the new chipset may come in Q1 2021 which is also in line with the launch timeline of Redmi. However, these are speculations and for more details, we’ll have to wait for more reports.
